OSKAR BLUE

Oskar has sold to one of our favorite clients and repeat buyers. We are beyond excited that he will remain in our program.

Oskar Blue is a 2017 red roan gelding who stands at 14.3 hands. Please take the time to watch his entire video.

He is sired by the red hot performance stallion, Once In a Blu Boon who has earnings in excess of $319,000, and offspring earnings surpassing $1 Million, with still a very young crop. Once In A Blu Boon is by the cutting and cowhorse pillar stallion, Peptoboonsmal (LTE $180k +) with offspring earnings exceeding $27 Million, and out of the legendary mare, Autumn Boon (LTE $259k +) and produced offspring with more than $1.9 Million in earnings. Oskar Blue boasts a strong dam line, as well, being out of the NCHA earner of $38k+, Fanny's Dual Action, who is by Mister Dual Pep, a top notch Reined Cowhorse stallion. Fanny's Dual Action is also a descendent of Fanny's Oskar, who was Reserve Champion of the NCHA Open Futurity, and has LTE $127k. This gelding's papers are packed to the brim with money earners and producers, and he is showing all of the athleticism to continue adding to the numbers.

Oskar does not disappoint. He has a monster stop, consistent lead change, easy circles, turns with the cow down the fence, and is pleasant to ride. He is on track to show in the open futurities, but is non pro/amateur friendly.

Save the fact that he's ready to win you money, this youngster is 3 going on 13 in his mind. He has the temperament of a seasoned and aged gelding. He is safe, uncomplicated, and honest. He will cow up and then come right back down to being ridden bareback in a halter. Oskar packs around just as quietly whether he's ridden everyday, or has three weeks off. No buck, rear, bolt, etc. He's never been lunged before being ridden, and is the same horse no matter if he's on grass hay or free choice alfalfa and grain. He's great to tie, clip, bathe, shoe, haul, etc. He currently lives in a pen with one other gelding and three stallions, and he is great in the herd. He's neither the bottom nor the top of the pecking order and fits right into all dynamics. He's also lived in a herd of mares, as well as alone in a stall and run.

While he is currently being trained in cowhorse, Oskar would excel in any performance discipline, or even as just a safe cruiser. He is brave but not arrogant, and open to trying anything presented to him. He's swung a rope and tracked the burrows, and would make a good heel horse, breakaway prospect, ranch horse, or would transition nicely into Versatility, Ranch Riding, or any western discipline. He's been ridden out alone or with others, and is no drama whatsoever.

This guy is a unicorn and I don't have enough good things to say about him. I am very regretfully selling him as I cannot afford to properly campaign multiple futurity horses as well as my derby horses, and he is by far the kindest and most pleasing to ride of any of them. He has been immaculately cared for, has low miles, and has never been unsound. He does have two scars on his left back and front that happened as a baby, and do not cross any joints or cause any issues.
